Highmount is a the royal residency of and largest city in Gravaria. In the year 355 GT 557,389 people lived in the city, based on the cities census, making it the largest city in all of Enkala. It lies on the northern bank of the Great River in the east of the Central Enkalan Plains. Hightmount is also a major economical centre of Enkala, with products and people from all over the world travelling to Highmount for its markets.
In the city's centre the Palace of Highmount, the Royal Academy of Highmount and the Highmount Temple of Fronaion can be found.
Founded under the name Fronatia (after the goddess Fronaion) some time around 1876 bGT it was officially renamed to Highmount in 654 bGT.
During the 350s GT the city underwent major transformation as a result of the Industrial Transformation, which started in the country. Highmount was and still is at the forefront of that transformation. Now quite some tall smokestacks can be seen throughout the city. Along with that many more automated mechanisms are spread throughout the city, many powered by centralised Steam Engines. A number of Sky Ports have also been built all across the city. These serve as public transport and as transportation of goods across the city. There are also plans for larger Sky Ports for intercity travel and trade in the future.
